Ichthammol ointment 10%


What ichthammol is and what is used for :

The active ingredient in this medicine is Ichthammol (ammonium bituminosulfonate). 

Ichthammol is bacteriostatic and can slow down the growth of bacteria. It also contains glycerol which provides a moisturizing base and softens the skin. It is used for the treatment of chronic eczema.


Do not use ichthammol ointment :

if you are allergic to the active ingredient or to any of the other ingredients.


Warnings and precautions :

Do not use on broken skin.


Possible side effects of ichthammol :

This medicine may occasionally cause skin irritation. 


Other medicines and ichthammol :

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines. 


How to take ichthammol :

For external use on the skin only

Adults, the elderly and children under 12 years:  Apply 1-3 times daily to the affected skin.


How to store ichthammol :

Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Store below 25°C.

Do not use after the expiry date on the label. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
