What Insulin Human NPH 30 is used for:

• Insulin Human NPH 30 is a suspension for injection that contains the active substance human insulin.
• Insulin Human NPH 30 contains both fast-acting (soluble) and long-acting (isophane) insulin.

Do not use Insulin Human NPH 30 if:

• Are having an episode of low blood sugar.
• Have an allergy to human insulin or any of the ingredients in Insulin Human NPH 30.

Warnings and Precautions:

Tell your healthcare provider about all your medical conditions including, if you:

• have liver or kidney problems.
• have heart failure or other heart problems

Possible side effects of Insulin Human NPH 30:

• Insulin Human NPH 30 can cause serious side effects. These side effects happen only to a small number of people and include:
• low blood sugar
• severe allergic
• low potassium in your blood
• heart failure

Other medicines and Insulin Human NPH 30:

• Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take especially ones called thiazolidinediones, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, or herbal supplements.

How to use Insulin Human NPH 30:

• Insulin Human NPH 30 is given by injection under the skin, in the thigh, the abdominal wall (at the front of the waist), the gluteal region (buttocks) or the deltoid region (shoulder).
• The injection site should be changed for each injection. The patient's blood sugar should be tested regularly to find the lowest effective dose.
• The usual dose is between 0.3 and 1.0 units per kilogram body weight per day.
• Insulin Human NPH 30 is given 30 minutes before a meal. It is usually given once or twice a day when a rapid initial effect together with a more long-lasting effect is needed

How to store Insulin Human NPH 30:

All unopened vials:

• Store all unopened vials in the refrigerator at 36° to 46°F (2° to 8°C). Do not freeze.
• Keep Insulin Human NPH 30 and all medicines out of reach of children.
