Amoxicillin 500 mg Capsules


 


What amoxicillin is
used for:




Amoxicillin Capsule is used to
treat infections caused by bacteria in different parts of the body.


Amoxicillin Capsule may also be
used in combination with other medicines to treat stomach ulcers.




 


Do not take
Amoxicillin capsule:




·        
If you are allergic to
amoxicillin, penicillin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.


·        
If you have ever had an
allergic reaction to any antibiotic.




Warnings and
Precautions:




Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Amoxicillin
Capsule if you:


·        
have glandular fever
(fever, sore throat, swollen glands and extreme tiredness)


·        
have kidney problems


·        
are not urinating regularly




Possible side effects:




Stop taking Amoxicillin Capsules and see a doctor straight
away, if you notice any of the following serious side effects:


·        
allergic reactions


·        
rash or pinpoint flat red
round spots under the skin surface or bruising of the skin


·        
a delayed allergic reaction
can occur usually 7 to 12 days after having Amoxicillin Capsules


·        
a skin reaction


·        
flu-like symptoms


·        
high temperature (fever),
chills, a sore throat or other signs of an infection




Other medicines and
Amoxicillin Capsules:




Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking:


·        
allopurinol


·        
probenecid


·        
medicines to help stop
blood clots


·        
other antibiotics


·        
methotrexate


How to take
Amoxicillin Capsules:




The usual dose of Amoxicillin Capsules is 250 mg to 500 mg
three times a day or 750 mg to 1 g every 12 hours, depending on the severity
and type of infection.




How to store
Amoxicillin Capsules:




Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.


Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is
stated on the carton after EXP. The expiry date refers to the last day of that
month.


Store in the original pack below 30°C.


Do not use this medicine if you notice visible signs of
deterioration.
