What Candesartan Cilexetil / Hydrochlorothiazide is used for:

• Candesartan Cilexetil / Hydrochlorothiazide is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension).
• It combines two medicines that work in different ways to decrease blood pressure.

Do not take Candesartan Cilexetil / Hydrochlorothiazide:

• If you’re allergic to the active substances or any other component of this medicine.
• If you’re allergic to sulfonamide drugs (sulfa allergy).
• If you have severe kidney problems.
• If you have severe liver problems.
• If you have diabetes or kidney disease and you taking the medicine Aliskiren.
• If you have difficulty passing urine or are unable to pass urine.
• If you are pregnant.
• In children less than 1 year of age.

Warnings and precautions:

Talk to your doctor about all your medical conditions before taking this medicine including:

• If you have kidney problems.
• If you have liver problems.
• If you have heart problems or heart failure.
• If you have gout.
• If you have diabetes.
• If you are vomiting, have recently had severe vomiting, or have diarrhea.
• If you have low blood pressure.
• If you have had a heart attack or stroke.
• If you are taking any of the following medicines: an ACE inhibitor (like Enalapril, Lisinopril, Ramipril), Aliskiren, a mineralocorticoid receptors antagonist (MRA).

Possible side effects:

• Stop using this product and seek immediate medical help if you develop rash; hives; itching; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin; wheezing; tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Side effects include:

• Dizziness
• Low blood pressure
• Headache
• Upper respiratory tract infection

Other medicines and Candesartan Cilexetil / Hydrochlorothiazide:

• Tell your doctor about all the medicines you are taking.
• Tell your doctor especially if you are taking:
• Other medicines that lower your blood pressure
• Other diuretics (water pills)
• Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as Ibuprofen, Diclofenac
• Lithium (for mental health problems)
• Potassium supplements
• Medicines for diabetes
• Bile acid resins used to lower cholesterol
• Calcium and vitamin D supplements
• Alcohol
• Barbiturates

How to take Candesartan Cilexetil / Hydrochlorothiazide :

• Take as indicated by your doctor.
• Take at the same time each day.
• Take with or without food.
• The usual dosing is one tablet once daily.
• Maximum dose: 32 mg of Candesartan Cilexetil and 25 mg of hydrochlorothiazide.

How to store Candesartan Cilexetil / Hydrochlorothiazide :

• Store at room temperature below 86°F (30°C).
• Keep this medicine out of reach of children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package.
• The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
